Rabbits can easily learn to poo in a container. These low toilets are very suitable for that.
In most cases, potty training with guinea pigs is rarely possible. You can fill the container with a layer of absorbent bedding (such as sawdust or hemp fiber) and place some hay on top. This makes a lovely edible bed for your animals and as a bonus they will poop and pee quite a bit in it at the same time. This way you can meet some of their needs and clean a part of the cage easily. This is extra useful if you keep your guinea pigs on fleece or bath mats to give them their hay straight away.
